Piopá

An audiovisual and interactive project designed to recognise bullying, build empathy and learn how to act.

Piopá, a different adventure was created as an audiovisual and interactive project to help children, families and educators recognise bullying and respond to it.

Developed by Vector Animado (Vecani) in collaboration with Asociación Protégeles, the project combined animation, storytelling and interaction to address bullying through empathy, prevention and shared responsibility.

Piopá, una aventura diferente

Recognising bullying

Piopá presented situations close to the everyday reality of schoolchildren, helping identify behaviours that may become normalised or go unnoticed.

Its purpose was not simply to show the problem, but to help players recognise it, understand its consequences and learn that asking for help or reporting a situation is part of the solution.

The victim and the witnesses

The project focused not only on the child being bullied, but also on classmates who witness it. Recognising what is happening, empathising with the victim and using a safe channel or trusted adult can change the course of a situation.

Learning through a story

Piopá combined animation with videogame language. Characters and narrative situations made it possible to explore school conflict without turning the experience into a theoretical lesson.

Technology for prevention

Videogames and animation were used as familiar digital languages through which an educational message could reach children naturally.

A tool for conversation

The situations shown could become a starting point for classroom discussions about respect, peer pressure, fear of reporting and the responsibility of witnesses.

Collaboration with Asociación Protégeles

The project was developed in close collaboration with Asociación Protégeles, a pioneering Spanish organisation in child protection, online safety and the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying.

This collaboration helped shape the content through both creative and technological perspectives and the experience of professionals working in childhood, education and safety.

Between animation and videogames

The hybrid nature of Piopá is central to its identity. It began as an interactive pilot and animated short film, exploring from the outset how both languages could reinforce each other.

Animation built characters, emotion and situations; interaction gave the user a more active role in reflecting on them.

Music and visual production

The music and sound ambience for Piopá, a different adventure were created by Eduardo Tarilonte, reinforcing the narrative and emotional tone of the project.

The 3D work was produced by Bone Estudio, shaping the characters and environments of the interactive and audiovisual experience.

Recognition at Animacam

Piopá, a different adventure received the Best Videogame Pilot award at the international Animacam festival, recognising its combination of animation, technology and social purpose.

The award was also reported by the international industry publication Animation World Network (AWN).

Original material

The original video preserves the visual style, characters and educational narrative approach of the project.

The legacy of Piopá

Piopá represents one of the strands that now converge within Crannsoft: using videogames and interactive technology to address issues that go beyond entertainment.

Its aim was to help recognise and prevent bullying through characters, storytelling and participation as tools for empathy and conversation.

Vector Animado (Vecani), the company responsible for the development of Piopá, a different adventure, is now integrated into Crannsoft, bringing its experience and the legacy of projects where technology and social purpose formed part of the same development philosophy.
